Young Indians Parliament

The inaugural Young Indians Parliament (YIP), a pioneering initiative designed to bring the parliamentary process in a new format to the youth of India.

Students from classes 9 to 12 across the country will have the opportunity to engage in debates, discussions, and decision-making processes that mirror the real workings of parliamentary democracy.

Our mission is to empower the next generation of leaders by providing them with a platform to voice their opinions, develop critical thinking, and enhance public speaking skills.

Who Can Participate

YIP is open to all students from classes 9 to 12 across India. We invite young individuals who are eager to learn, debate, and contribute their ideas.

Educators are also encouraged to participate as facilitators or mentors, guiding students through their YIP journey.
 

How to Participate

Participating in Young Indians Parliament is simple and straightforward.

It begins with school registration followed by individual student registrations, followed by preparation for the event with guidelines provided by us.

The journey culminates in the event days, where students simulate the roles of parliamentarians, engaging in meaningful debates and discussions.

Event Format

Regional Round of Young Indians Parliament: What to Expect

The regional round of the Young Indians Parliament (YIP) is a critical phase where selected students engage in a simulated parliamentary session over two days. This experience is designed to mirror the actual proceedings of a parliamentary democracy, focusing on debate, deliberation, and decision making.

Day 1 Schedule

  • Registration: Participants check in and receive their delegate kits.
  • Oath or Affirmation: Official start with participants taking an oath, symbolizing their commitment to the values and responsibilities of the event.
  •  Inauguration & President's Address: A formal inauguration of the event followed by an address from a distinguished guest, setting the tone for the deliberations to come.
  •  Question Hour & Zero Hour: Participants engage in questioning and debating on predetermined questions and spontaneous topics, respectively, showcasing their research and public speaking skills.
  •  Lunch Break: Time allocated for refreshment and networking among participants.
  •  Afternoon Session: Continuation of debates and discussions, allowing participants to delve deeper into legislative processes and parliamentary protocols.

 Day 2 Schedule

  • Morning Session: Resumption of parliamentary proceedings from Day 1, with additional opportunities for participants to present their views and engage in constructive debates.
  •  Lunch Break: Another opportunity for participants to interact and share insights.
  •  Afternoon Session: The final stretch of debates and discussions, leading up to the closing ceremony.
  •  Closing Ceremony and Valedictory: Recognition of participants' efforts and achievements, announcement of awards, and closing remarks to conclude the regional round.

 

 Additional Information

Leadership Roles: During and before the event, students will select leaders among themselves, including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of the House, and Leader of the Opposition, to facilitate the sessions.

Networking and Learning: Participants are encouraged to engage with their peers, exchange ideas, and learn from the diverse perspectives presented.

Preparation for National Finals: Standout participants in the regional round will be shortlisted for the opportunity to represent their school, state, and region at the national finals in New Delhi in November

Aim of the Regional Round

The regional round is designed not only to select the best candidates for the national finals but also to enrich the participants' understanding of parliamentary procedures, enhance their public speaking and leadership skills, and foster a sense of civic responsibility.

By participating in these two days of intensive parliamentary simulation, students gain invaluable experience that contributes to their personal and academic growth.

EVENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in The Young Indians Parliament ("the Event"), organized by CII Yi ("the Organizer"). By registering for or attending the Event, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Participation

Participation in the Event is subject to registration, acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, and compliance with any instructions or requirements set forth by the Organizer.

3. Consent for Use of Personal Information

3.1. As a participant, you hereby grant the Organizer, its affiliates, and agents, the right and permission to record, use, publish, stream, sell, and distribute (a) your image, likeness, and voice, and (b) any photographs, video footage, recordings, or other materials taken or collected during the Event, in which you may be included in whole or in part, in any manner or media now known or hereafter devised, for any lawful purpose, including for promotional, marketing, or educational purposes.

3.2. This consent includes the use of your name, image, likeness, and voice in connection with the Event and the activities of the Organizer without any compensation to you. All such recordings, whether electronic, digital, or analog, shall be the sole property of the Organizer.

3.3. You acknowledge and agree that you shall have no right, title, or interest in any of the recordings, photographs, or materials, notwithstanding their use by the Organizer.

3.4. The Organizer reserves the right to use any photographs, video, or audio recordings taken at the Event, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph or recording. The Organizer may use the material in publications or other media material produced, used, or contracted by the Organizer, including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.

4. Data Protection

The personal information provided to the Organizer by you will be used in accordance with applicable data protection laws and the Organizer’s Privacy Policy. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you consent to this use.

5. General

5.1. The Organizer reserves the right to make changes to the Event, including dates, times, and venues, without prior notice.

5.2. The Organizer shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused as a result of such changes.

6. Acknowledgment and Agreement

By registering for the Event, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them. You represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
